From a free recipe of pea & mint soup, much wisdom can be learned.
Slightly stir fried garlic & spring onion with butter for 1 minute.
Add vegetable stock and diced potato, simmer for 15 minutes til potato is soft.
Add garden peas, simmer for 3 minutes. Off the stove.
Stir in chopped mint leaves, balsamic vinegar, a pinch of sugar and season.
Use hand blender to whisk til smooth.
Serve with a swirl of sour cream.
That is home-made soup.
For food shops & canned version, cheaper chemicals are used.
Even for efficiency, the soup is microwaved by the busy staff.
We know microwaved stuff are not good for health.
Canned version might have other unwanted materials
from the container inner resin film
and other processes including some kind of radiation.
Take away soups & Central kitchen soups,
heated and transported in plastic containers, that also caused worries about plasticizer ...
Take care & take notice of ingredients and what we really put in our body!
The names of products are often too simple.

The Parish Church of St. Saviour & St. Peter. An unplanned visit.
St.Saviour's Church on South Sreet was completed in 1866.
Architect/Designer: George Edmund Street,
who also designed the London Law Courts in the Strand & the Diocese of Oxford.
This church has many mosaic art on the wall telling Christian stories.
Stain glass windows and three organs are something to notice,too.
Nice arches and wooden roof.
And it has a statue of Mary in a dark brown material which look like a big piece of chocolate.
The church has ten bells in the tower, added in 1875. Still functional.
The church was damaged during the War and was restored in the 90s.
The church is often used for various music and arts events by various organisations.
Organ recital occasionally took place during lunch hour during weekday.
A guy who works there said
they do not have Sunday school as most churchgoers are senior citizens.
This country now has fewer and fewer schools run by Christian churches due to political (over)-correctness. What a pity! (Hong Kong has been lucky in this matter)
This church do Mass daily. More often than many other churches.
It is under Church of English but with heavy Catholic basis.
The version of English translation Bible it is using now is the Jerusalem Bible.
Although there are a few copies of other versions in the church library
at the end of its South Aisle, including King James Bible (Collins) I am like a tourist.
The pew sheet/leaflet of last week Mass seems simpler
than other similar churches I visited before.

Was it to suit the ruling class's preference of meat?
Nowadays only few Christians practice
fasting and cutting out meat/food.
I read materials saying that
Jesus was likely to be one of the
Nazarene Essenes,
who lived simple rural life, wore white robes,
ate vegetarian diet, fasted, and meditated.......
He and John the Baptist survived well in rural wilderness/caves
with vegetarian food in nature,
like milk/curd/cheese, honey, fish weed, locust fruit...and
He seems well-experienced in fasting for long period of time!
