Trip. Tate Gallery 5

Tate Gallery: Tate Britain in London. Part 5.
Typical English famous painters : Turner & Constable.
Before camera, paintings capturing the beauty of landscape, nature & society are great record of history.

Whether they are 100% realistic is not important though.
Artists often has "artistic license".

I like the large paintings in golden colour sculptured picture frames...
they often remind people of the golder era...
where societies value art...
and, artists can made a living.

The rich patrons can commission or buy large paintings to put on the walls of their very big stately homes and holiday villas.

AND, that was before anyone can easily copy-and-paste and reproduce.

Artists do not even need to registered trade mark
or to think about how to protect their intellectual properties.

Turner, Constable, etc, are lucky guys.

May all artworks and artists be appreciated and well rewarded.

peaceful time recently with beauties in nature

Sukura flowers seen in a park earlier in March/April.

Then, moving on to May & June...

Interesting flowers seen in the front garden of a house.

These simple flowers below are seen near seaside promenade.

Relax in a park

Need relaxation & a touch of nature.
So I went to a park where I can  walk & sit on the grass, and there is a lake-like place where swans, ducks, pigeons hang around.
When the sun is shinning with few or no clouds, AND, the wind is very low, it is nice to spend time there. Not far from sea front.
Grateful.

Ironbridge, short visit

My long time friends, a couple, took me to Ironbridge.
A World Heritage site which can be reached by car/coach.

Map-- Enlarge to see more details. **

This place has an interesting name.
A bird in hand.
Older than the iron bridge.
Nice lunch menu.
Nice interior decoration, including
an iron work of the structire of the bridge
Accommodation available.

This view is outside
 an indoor market of Merrythought.
We spent some time browsing inside the market.

  The milk-bottle-like structures are
   chimneys of a power station.

Around the Ironbridge world heritage area,
there are many museums related to
iron, tiles, china, Victorian old days, etc.

(Back then, stuff made in Britain were really of good quality and last long. That is before globalisation and over-emphasis of profit and fast return eyeing short term benefits of cost-cutting and blind belief in free trade  via which influx of cheap imported goods slowly killing off local good quality goods, businesses, craftmen, trade even industries. )

My old friends cannot walk much.
So we just did window-shopping in the interesting shops & market around the area,  had lunch & left.

It is a good place to spend a weekend.

Especially when it is sunny, warm and mild wind.

Good for family day out. Very educational, too.
