Japan Centre London quick shopping

Since the coach will depart at 17:10/17:15, I had got to be quick.

There was a queue for the soft white bun with sweet red bean paste.
OK, I skipped that this time then.

I  went to the freezer/fridge to get natto.
There are products of 3 brandnames.
I chose the orangy coloured one.
The ingredients seem slightly better.

A pack of 4.

Then I quickly walked to the back and
grabbed a few items including

Shichi-mi tōgarashi powder.

An avocado sushi pack from the food court area.

I didn't even have time to look for the Japanese free paper/magazine for local Japanese.

Queued &  paid.
Wrapped the natto well as I had  a long way to go.
Forgotten to take photograph of the natto.
But same as the one I bought last time.

There are the Santander bikes for rent outside Japan House.
But I am not sure there is dock for them near Tottenham Court Road or not.
So I skipped that.

Found my way with Google map back to Tottenham Court Road on foot.
Walked through part of China Town.

No time to shop for the other stuff I need.
(This time I just very quickly grabbed
1 soft sweet flat sphere form of snack
with peanut, desicated coconut
花生糯米糍from a bakery.)

Walked passed famous Foyle Book Shop.
(see the map in previous blog entry)

Arrived in time.
Enjoyed my sushi on coach.

The coach started the return journey at 17:25. Traffic jam.

Sun set photo taken during the loo stop.

I got off the coach at 20:34.

Thanks for the day, dear God.

Healthy 1person meals fusion

In Winter, most people prefer something hot.
I will do it in a ratio. Maybe 40 to 60 % of my food are raw.

Apart from fruits, here are some of what I made & ate...

I like variations. Don't you?

With different seasonings, good salt, spices, herbs, sesame oil,
half a teaspoon of chilli oil, mixed pepper, ginger powder, etc.
Extra virgin olive oil.

Olives are lovely.

Japanese mini natto is a learned acquired taste.

I like to have a little bit of raw onion in my food for its health properties.

For the soup pasta/noodle,
I like a fusion of Japanese style with Italuan pasta.

Organic ones are nice.
Tricolor are pleasant for eyes.

eg.
Tofu with seaweed in red miso paste to make muso suru.
Pink Himalaya rock salt.  Mixed pepper crushed.
E.V. olive oil & chilli seaseme oil.

Enjoy 😘

fusion Japanese natto English ginger oat biscuit

On the 1st day of the Lunar New Year,
 I went to London
with my pre-teenage niece.
We walked through China Town,
visited National Gallery,
shopping & had our meal
at Japan Centre.

I love 納豆 Japanese natto.
 Especially
non-GMO organic mini version original
with たれ & からし
the special soy sauce
& yellow mustard.

But I rarely have rice.

Solution:
ginger oat biscuit!

First
 whisk the natto
till there is lots of fine-thread-like thingie,
Then,
add the 2 packs of seasoning.
Mix well.
Straight on top of a piece of ginger oat biscuit.
Voila!

Actually
I can just enjoy the natto on its own.
This version
 is for
people who
try it for the first time,
or
fancy a snack
with something crunchy.😋

Will try upload photo again later.

Trip London 201709 A

One afternoon in September, I fancied visiting London.
I got on a train to Victoria Station.

(📷🔎 many photos; might take a short while loading.)

I got an Oyster card from a tourist information centre.
Walked around the station.
Saw a mini version of the clock tower.
Part of the exterior of the station.

Victoria Station viewing from the bus stop.

This red building was named one of the most ugliest building in UK.

Little Ben.
This picture show how "little"

100 Victoria Street. Interesting appearance from this angle.
This building is at the bend of Victoria Street near the Victoria Station.

This map show where I left my foot prints :)  🔎

Wandering a little bit around the Victoria Station,
I saw this. Westminster Cathedral.

The tower is 273 feet tall.
The Viewing Gallery of the Tower is 200 ft above street level.
If you pay GBP 5,  you can get there by elevator and get a 360° views across London.
I didn't.

Sorry that the photos were taken from a simple smart phone camera.
Please forgive the distortion of the lens.

Cathedral Architect: John Francis Bentley.
But the mosiac interior was not done by the time he passed away.

Unconvetional design modelled on a Byzantine basilica. Thanks to sculptor, marble merchant and explorer William Brindley, there are 126 marble varieties insides, from around the world.

Baptistry: the place for baptismal ceremony.

Ceilings ... glittering. Lots of mosiac everywhere. Modern art/craft.

Lots of chapels around.

Wall decoration of the chapels use
modern art/ modern deco of this century. And... many are glittering.

They said the fish scales designs was to match the fisherman job of the disciple, St.Andrew, the patron of Scotland.

Lots of marble and mosiac.

Holy Souls Chapel inside Westminster Cathedral.

Just a quick tour as it was unplanned detour.

I put the rest of the day trip on another entry.

First I need to find the bus stop 🚏
